A sweet red wine, port is the perfect companion at the end of the night. Aged in sealed bottles or wooden barrels, port often loses its bright red hues as it matures. Because of the addition of distilled-grape spirit, port is sweeter, heavier, and higher in alcohol content than red wine. Pair port with fruit and dessert.
